  • Can I install a quick release axle on bike that did not originally have it? – Generally no because a bike needs to have open dropouts slots. However, if the bike had the solid axles that use nuts on both ends and have dropdown slots, you can usually swap the wheel for a quick release type of wheel and then use quick release axles. Note; the whole wheel needs to be changed.
